Why Berks-Mont needed its own business directory
The big national directory sites treat small-town Pennsylvania as an afterthought. Here's why we built one that covers just this area.

If you've ever tried to find a local business online, you've probably run into the same problem we did: the big directory sites treat small-town Pennsylvania as an afterthought.
A big map, a small dot
National directories are built to cover the entire country, and that means every town gets roughly the same amount of attention, which is to say, not much. A search for a plumber or a roofer in Boyertown, Pottstown, or Kutztown often turns up listings that are outdated, duplicated, or pulled from a data feed nobody has looked at in a while. These sites weren't built with towns like ours in mind. On a national map, we're a small dot.
Why a local directory is different
We built BerksMont Business to cover one area and cover it well: the boroughs and townships of southeastern Berks County and northwestern Montgomery County, plus Emmaus and Macungie over the line in Lehigh. That's it. No stretching to cover every zip code in the country, no treating every small town the same way. Just one region, kept current by someone who actually pays attention to it.
Free listings, no catch
Every business listing on this site is free. A business owner in Boyertown, Pottstown, Kutztown, or any of the surrounding towns can be listed at no cost, with no fine print attached. If you want to know how claiming a listing works, or what the one paid option on this site actually does, we wrote a separate post about that: How listings work here.
Who runs this
BerksMont Business is an independently run local directory. It isn't a franchise of a national brand, and it isn't trying to be everything to everyone. It's meant to be a useful, current place to find and be found by businesses in this specific corner of Pennsylvania.
If you own a business in the area and don't see your listing yet, or need to update one that's already here, reach out using the Contact link in the site footer, or email hello@berksmontbusiness.com directly.
