Overview

BerksMont Business ("we", "us") operates a directory connecting visitors in the Berks-Mont area of Pennsylvania with local businesses. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how to control your information.

What we collect

• From visitors: if you submit a review, the name, rating, and review text you provide. If you email us, whatever you choose to share.
• From businesses: business name, address, phone, website, category, hours, and the email address used to claim and verify a listing.
• Automatically: page views, clicks, referring page, approximate location, browser type, and similar analytics. We do not sell this data.

How we use it

• To operate and display the directory, including listings built from public information.
• To verify and manage claimed listings, including Featured billing.
• To send service emails (verification codes, receipts, account changes) through Resend.
• To send outreach email to businesses about their listing on the directory. Every such email includes a one-click unsubscribe.
• To improve the directory, measure basic usage, and prevent abuse.

Sharing

We use service providers (Supabase for database hosting, Stripe for Featured checkout, Resend for email delivery) who process data on our behalf under their published terms. Stripe handles your payment details directly; we do not store card numbers on our servers. We do not sell personal information.

Your choices

• Unsubscribe from any outreach email using the link in its footer.
• Email hello@berksmontbusiness.com to access, correct, or delete your information, or to opt out of outreach.

Security

We use HTTPS for all traffic and encrypted storage with our hosting providers. Access to admin tooling is gated behind an authenticated session. No system is perfectly secure; please contact us immediately if you suspect a breach.

Children

The directory is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If a parent contacts us about a child's information, we will promptly delete it.

Changes

We may update this policy as the platform evolves. The "Last updated" date above will reflect the most recent revision.
